We were then ready for some re-assembly and put the front end back together with little trouble. I set the adjustable Konis to full soft on the front end and guestimated the ride height on the coilovers and we put the motor back in the car. The quick-ratio (12.7:1) steering gear slid right in and bolted right up with the near tie rod ends from DSE. For now the Muncie went back in and was mated to the freshly-back-from-powder-coating rear differential with the original driveshaft. We did have to turn down the rear axle flanges on the lathe to get the Baer brakes rotors to fit properly. Dad had to go so I finished the brake set-up and putting the front clip back on the car myself. The Baer Track front and Sport rear calipers and disks were dramatically lighter than the drums that came off all four corners of the car, helping to reduce overall weight and, more importantly, reducing unsprung weight while improving stopping.
