Camaro Clutch Problems
Monday, October 3rd, 2005What a difference the overdrive made! I could now cruise the expressway without the engine roaring at 4,000 RPM and had more torque for launching as well. I can’t recommend this swap enough. At this point I had a freshened-up 350, overdrive transmission, rebuilt rear differential, four wheel disk brakes, power steering, and relocated and adjustable front coilovers. I had put the car on a diet to the tune of about 200 lbs, and had lowered the car about 3 inches. Because of the big cam, the car was still a bear to drive around, but it was quite drivable and was starting to come together into was could eventually be a Pro-Touring car. I wasn’t driving the car very often, and one time I went to start it up and it would start fine but would not go into gear without stalling. After many months of attempting to adjust the clutch, I was stumped, and the car sat around a long time because of my frustration.
