Progress Again!

Some time passed and it was time for Dad’s next visit—we wasted some more time with clutch adjustments until Dad figured out what the problem was—the clutch was fused to the flywheel.  Due to our lovely Hawaii humidity the two had become one while the car sat.  I separated them with a screwdriver through a little access hole in the scattershield while Dad turned the engine over to make sure I separated them all around.  With a running car, we moved onto the interior.  Dad helped me re-cover all of the seats and put the three point harnesses in from Morris Classic Concepts.  We also fabbed up and welded in some sheet metal to cover the transmission from where the original transmission hump had been hacked up from some previous drag racing owners.  Dad left and I got the entire interior of the car stripped and ready for some POR-15.  After POR-15 I covered the interior with Dynamat and put the new carpeting in along with a dash pad and a few other interior goodies like a new center counsel from Rick’s First Generation.
