Scott,
The V6 3800 fourth gen Camaro starts out in G Stock. Once you modify it, you are looking at:

STX in the street touring if your tires are 245 mm or less (under 5.1 liter NA limit for displacement, allows for lowering the car, cam swap OK). This is the only class in which your competitors will all be stuck on street rubber like you are. No one seems to race this in the local club, not sure why...

The cam swap disqualifies you from ESP.

You do qualify to compete in SM. This is a big class with lots of imports, with many cars on racing tires. The fastest cars in this class will be in or near the top ten, but the slowest cars will be near last place because it's such a big class. PAX is .860.

And you qualify for C Prepared. You have to go "heads up" with the V8s here...shouldn't be a problem given your reputation as the dispatcher of LT1s. You are allowed to be lighter by virture of the V6--your minimum weight is 2450 whereas we V8 guys have to weigh at least 3000 lbs. PAX is .864 but you race against mostly or all domestic iron.

So basically as i understand the rules you can go STX, SM, and CP. Since no one seems to race STX, that leaves SM and CP. CP is technically the more competitive of the two because of the higher PAX, but locally there are a lot less domestic cars running so it's probably less competitive.

Either way you can't go wrong and will have lots of fun!

Scott, the rules are a little different for V6, at least on the stock side...let me check the rules and get back to you. Do you have a helmet for July 13th or you going to borrow one?
